Hiking and trekking activities in Savoy can be practised the year round. In summer, you just need your hiking boots.  In winter, insulated and waterproof snow boots are suitable for snowshoeing.

The apartment Location Paradiski San Bernardo in l’Auberge du Val Joli is the perfect place for both activities. Hiking trails start at the bottom of the residence.

Whether you choose beginner or intermediate hiking (see the estimated time, distance and technical difficulty), make sure you have the essential equipment. Good quality hiking shoes, hiking backpack and clothing suited to the weather. Also sunglasses, cap, sunscreen, water and food is the minimum to take before starting.

Several hiking trails start from the village of Séez. If you fancy steep trails, the pass of Petit Saint-Bernard is for you. 1000 meters of elevation gain starting from the Auberge du Val joli with its 1100 meters high starting point.

If you wish a bigger challenge, the pass of Grand Saint Bernard is 2469 meters high.

Many other famous passes are located near the Auberge du Val Joli. Here are some well-known passes : col de l’Iseran from Val d’Isère. Also, Le Cormet de Roselend,  col des Frettes, col de Grand Fond……
