Hiking and trekking in winter
Hiking and trekking activities in Savoy can be practised the year round. In winter, insulated and waterproof snow boots are suitable for snowshoeing, providing a comfortable and warm experience as you explore the snowy landscapes.
The apartment Location Paradiski San Bernardo located in the beautiful residence “Auberge du Val Joli” is the perfect place for both activities: in winter, 4 hiking trails start in Séez; in summer, many trails start from the Auberge du Val Joli. This strategic location allows you to immerse yourself in nature without having to travel far.
Here are some hiking trails you can practise in winter time :
– Starting from the residence: Sentier des Hameaux, a serene path offering picturesque views of the surrounding countryside.
– Starting in Séez: Cascade de Saint Germain (between the small villages of Villard Dessus and St Germain): Sentier des écureuils, where you might spot playful squirrels darting among the trees.
If you prefer ski touring, try the trail « l’Hermine ». Starting from the ski lift Les Ecudets (0,8 miles away from the apartment), it ends in La Rosière ski resort: 740 meters of elevation gain. Use the alpine trail for the downhill, enjoying the thrill of descending through the stunning alpine scenery.
For hiking and trekking in winter, using a mountain guide can also be a good option as you will discover unknown places around in a safe way. Guides provide valuable insights into the local terrain and ensure your hikes are both enjoyable and secure.
