Glacier Hiking

Glacier hiking / Ice climbing is an unforgettable experience you can’t miss. It is a short distance drive from the apartment.

Ice climbing is accessible to all, from 10 years old. You need to have a good physical condition. 

Ice climbers use crampons, picks, ropes and other equipment to climb on ice.

The spots closest to les Arcs/Bourg saint Maurice are the following ones:

Peisey-Nancroix: Ice climbing for all levels from 1 to 5 pitches, easy access, and good for half day or full day.

Val d’Isère (la Daille): maybe the best location for beginners, also possible to do multi pitches and learn how to lead.

Tignes les Brévières

Vallée des Chapieux: A remote place for people who have a good knowledge of ice climbing.

Champagny-en-Vanoise : artificial climbing wall 

Bring your skiing clothes and an extra set of gloves as well as mountaineering boots.

You can also rent the equiment to Christina Sports Arcs 1600 or Intersport in Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

The activity starts in December and ends in March.
